Call for Speakers
The Washington DC Metro Chapter of the Association of Enterprise Architects (a|EA-DC http://aea-dc.org ) is a forum for enterprise architects and others in the related fields to share ideas, best practices, experience, and concerns about enterprise architecture. a|EA-DC holds monthly meetings for members and the public to participate. a|EA-DC invites everyone who is interested in EA to consider giving speeches at our monthly meetings.
Topic Range
The topic of the speech can be anything regarding enterprise architecture as a management field, a profession, a knowledge discipline, a technology, and/or a practitioner's community.
Suggest a Topic or a Speaker
If you are interested in a topic or a speaker, you may email a|EA-DC meeting committee to express your interest. We will do our best to get presentation for popular topics or to get the speaker.
Procedure
Submit a speech topic. Please send a brief description to a|EA-DC' meeting committee, describing: speech title; content abstract (300 words or less); speaker name, organization, a short bio (100 words or less for each author), and contact information.
a|EA-DC' meeting committee will review the relevance and suitability of the speech topic and notify the speaker whether the speech is selected and when will be the possible meetings for the speech.
The speaker may be given 30 to 60 minutes to deliver the speech at an a|EA-DC monthly meeting. These monthly meetings usually take place on the second Wednesday of the month, from 11:30 am to 1 pm at a DC downtown location with Metro access.
The selected speaker communicates with the point of contact (POC) of the a|EA-DC' meeting committee to determine the speech date, time, and contents.
The selected speaker submits speech materials to the POC of a|EA-DC' meeting committee one week before the speech.
After the speech, the speech materials will be posted to a|EA-DC' web site under Meeting Proceedings unless a special arrangement has been made otherwise.
Content Guidelines
a|EA-DC encourages the sharing of methods, knowledge, and experience, but not direct advertisement and promotion of specific companies or products.
The author(s) can keep their copy right on the speech materials. Giving the speech at a|EA-DC' meetings indicates author(s)' permission to allow a|EA-DC to post the speech materials at a|EA-DC web site. Special arrangement should be made between the author(s) and a|EA-DC prior to the speech delivery meeting if the author does not want the speech materials to be published at a|EA-DC' web site.
